Jeffy Tow-Arnett

Owner, Amateur Equestrian

At Golden Gate Equestrian Center, excellence isn’t just a goal—it’s a mindset. Jeffy Tow-Arnett, owner of GGEC, brings a rare combination of professional athletic experience and horsemanship, shaping a program where dedication, hard work, and focused training are the foundation of success.

Growing up in Minnesota, Jeffy’s introduction to horses came through hands-on experience at a local ranch, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the equestrian world. His athletic career took him to the University of Minnesota, where he earned a full scholarship as a football player, eventually becoming the starting center for the Gophers before going on to play professionally with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and in Arena League Football.

After retiring from the NFL, Jeffy earned his MBA and discovered his passion for show jumping alongside his wife, Lauren. His experience as a professional athlete gives him a high-performance mindset, emphasizing discipline, mental toughness, and precision—values that are woven into the GGEC training philosophy. His leadership fosters an environment where riders, horses, and trainers are pushed to reach their full potential in a way that’s both structured and rewarding.

You can learn more about Jeffy’s journey and his insights on equestrian aftercare by listening to his talk at "Leaders and Innovators in Aftercare," presented by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, here.

Coming from a team sports background, I really wanted to create an environment where riders feel like they’re part of a team, not just out there on their own. Having that support system—people who push each other, celebrate the wins, and learn from the tough days—makes a huge difference. At Golden Gate, we try to bring that same team dynamic to the equestrian world, where everyone’s working together, whether it’s the riders, trainers, or the horses. That kind of environment helps everyone reach their potential and makes the whole experience more fun and rewarding.
